Saga covers scooters inside home insurance

Saga doesn't sell a mobility scooter policy on its own. Its home insurance can cover a pavement scooter if you name it, but not one registered for road use.

What Saga covers

Pavement scooters, if you name them

Saga's home insurance pages say scooters must be specified on the policy to be covered away from home, and that road-registered scooters aren't covered. Its over-80s page mentions personal legal liability when operating mobility devices.

That can suit a Class 2 scooter. For a Class 3 scooter, or if you want breakdown recovery and scooter hire, a specialist policy is the route.

Published prices and limits from each provider's own website and policy documents, checked 6 October 2026. Prices are "from" prices: your quote depends on your scooter, its value and the cover you choose. "Ask" under Class 3 means the provider doesn't state it publicly, not that it's excluded. Trustpilot scores cover the whole company, not just scooter policies.

Does Saga cover liability while I ride my scooter?
Saga's over-80s home insurance page says it includes personal legal liability when operating mobility devices. Check your wording for the limit.
